Life changes and forces us to adapt....

Before you know it the world shifts position and you are forced to change your perspective...when i look back at pictures and see how much in my life has changed without orchestration or intent it amazes me....I can imagine who some persons "in the sunset" of their lives may become depressed or may be surprised that what they intended earlier is not who or where they are now...how distance and time changes things - many times for the good ...we therefore have to be flexible agents ready to garner new perspectives and overcome the new challenges we are faced...never forgetting how instrumental the past has been and still remains, as the foundation from which we build...and respecting and loving it all...past present and the possibilities of the future...

  1. Your words are so true. I live in a country where the people fail to embrace that. The reality that your views are coming from an exposed background. The level of flexibility one is able to levy depends on the amount of exposure one has. Where I live so many people have been shown only one way of life and as such the cycle is perpetual. A few break when they realize that their efforts have amounted to nothing, and I suppose that is when they are approaching a "sunset". The sad part is that we sit here and contemplate ways in which we can make the situation better, but do so among people who don't want any better for themselves. And the past, so many are so concerned about creating their own futures that the past is merely a ghost. Remembered only when convenient or functioning as a reminder when all else fails.

  2. I agree with you and think that this perspective is often promoted by individual experience and that is a factor of chance. The reality is that this perspective makes it easier to embrace the strange ways of the world and to realise that we are never as limited as we are made to believe.

    It begs many questions....

How do we then break these cycles?

Is one's ability to accept such a perspective highly dependent on personality type??

Can persons without "exposure" gain such open views?

  3. I have always said that life happens when you are planning what should happen. I believe the wisdom dictates that you set general as well as specific goals. Generall goals include for me :to excell at what moves me, my passions. Specific goals like writing novels books and ...so on may change

  5. Aunt jackie tried to get on

my dear stef you are so right world changes as life changes However these changes re not random but rather under the control of our soverign God. We must be flexible without fear, adapting as we go along, embracing not just a strong family foundation and exposure but submission to the will of God and the direction of the holy spirit.

  7. So then how do we answer these questions?

Is life really what we make it? Is this true since we are constantly forced to adapt.

How much control do we have over our lives and how much of our lives just happen with or without our conscious effort?
